St. Francis de Sales School was established in 1895 as a Catholic parish elementary school located in Aston, PA, in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The school operates under the spiritual guidance of the pastor, Reverend Michael Colagreco. The pastor delegates the direction and instructional program to the principal, Sister Mary Farrell. Within the framework of Archdiocesan policies and procedures, the pastor and principal work in collaboration with the faculty and the parish finance committee in the decision-making processes.
The Sisters of St. Francis and lay teachers who staff St. Francis de Sales School are guided by the curriculum developed by committees of the Office of Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
All parents of St. Francis de Sales School students are members of the Home and School Association. This organization is governed by an executive board consisting of the pastor, principal, teacher representatives, and elected officers who are parents of the children in the school. The Home and School provides valuable services, as well as providing financial support to the school’s academic program.
Established policies are communicated through a Parent-Student Handbook and a Faculty Handbook. Through Teacher-Web and newsletters, we keep an open line of communication between the school and parents.
Strategic planning takes us into the future to establish an Advisory Board to assist the pastor and the school administrator in advancing the mission of this Catholic Elementary School.
